Child Supervision Policy

 

· The YMCA of Salem County requires that children 11 years of age and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian adult at all times in the building.

 

· Any child under twelve years of age must leave the YMCA building by 8:00 PM, unless accompanied by a parent/guardian or enrolled in a program.

 

· Parents/guardians must also be present at all times in the swimming pool area while children 11 years of age and under are swimming.

Gymnastics—Begins February 19, 2008 to April 8, 2008

Beginner and intermediate tumbling and apparatus skills are taught in a progressive manner.

Tuesday

Beginner—5:00-5:30 PM

Intermediate—5:30-6:15 PM

Advanced—6:15-7:00 PM

Karate

Ages 4 (depending on readiness) to 15 years old.  Based on American Goju style of Karate that combines hard strong strikes and kicks with soft fluid and effective blocks.  The goal is to help the student achieve and maintain balance in their life.

Moms in Motion

This walking group is designed for moms, dads or any caregiver who’d like some exercise but also want the companionship of fellow parents.  During our twice weekly meetings the group will walk for 40 minutes with their stroller or baby carrier and finish up with some resistance band training and abdominal work.  Children get to enjoy their parents company as well as meet and play with other children. 

All ages and fitness levels welcomed!

Monday & Thursday     10:30-11:15

Toddler Time

Let your child come and play with us.  Open to all children under 6 this play time allows children to socialize, improve motor skills and burn up some of their endless energy.  Parents are encouraged to stay & play .

Creative Little Minds

Let your child’s imagination soar through music, stories and crafts.

Teen Fitness Certification Course

Thursdays & Fridays, 7:00-8:15 PM

This course is designed to familiarize and educate our middle school & high school members ages 13 to 15 years with resistance training concepts and procedures.  Emphasized topics will include form, safety, regimen and etiquette.  *Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be granted privileged access to the fitness center and adult fitness classes.

 

Class Fees:

Full Member:               $30.00

Basic Member:           $40.00

 

Youth and Teen Dances

Come join the fun at monthly socials for students that include dancing and open basketball.  Concessions available. ID is required.  $5.00 entrance fee.

Super Saturday for 4th, 5th & 6th grade students

Funky Fridays for 6th through 9th grade students

YMCA Fit Kids-Teen & Youth After School Program

Fit Kids encourages youth and teens to incorporate fitness and healthy diets into their lives.  Fourth through eighth grade students will meet at the YMCA after school and participate in various fitness classes and activities, let by the YMCA’s certified fitness instructors, plus attend nutrition and education sessions.  Time is also set aside for homework.  This program is free to all Salem County students 4th—8th grade.  For more information contact Kathy Shandor, Program Director, at 856-299-1493.

Let us watch them play in our KidZone, while you work out! 

Our KidZone child/babysitting program is designed for children 6 months to 10 years of age.  It allows children the opportunity to participate in various activities that promote socialization and creative expressions.  Enrollment packets available at the Front Desk.

Mon, Tues, Wed, & Thurs.

Mornings:   9:30-11:30 AM

KidZone Fees:

$3.00 per child per hour

$1.50 per hour each child after

$15 and $30 cards are also available

 

Membership plus KidZone

Sign up for a YMCA membership and get a unlimited babysitting for a full year.

$50 for one child

$75 for two children

$25 for each additional child

 

You must be in the YMCA while your child is in the KidZone.  Violating this policy will revoke KidZone privileges.
